Eickhoff Continuous Miner Type CM 2

The Eickhoff CM 2 is worldwide the only Continuous Miner available giving customers the choice between two high powered traction drive concepts.

“H”- Concept

The “H”-type is a proven full Hydraulic Motor driven Traction System with significant advantages in wet and muddy floor conditions.

“E”- Concept

The “E”-type is a full Inverter AC motors driven Traction System for customers who prefer this option.

Cutter Gearcase

The Cutter Gearcase concept is based on two separate LH and RH units connected together to provide the full installed motor power to the cutting drums.
The two parts allow easy handling during installation underground.
Maintenance and production engineers will appreciate the possibility to replace torricseals underground.
Either of the gearcases can be independently changed out should the need arise.

Traction system

Head to head, when it comes to performance, the electric and the hydraulic traction systems provide lowest ground pressure and highest tramming speed and traction force.
Mines with wet and muddy floor conditions will benefit from the high reliable hydraulic traction motors.

Cutter Drums

The cutting diameter is 1.2m and the cutting width 3.65m. The bit tip speed of 2.7 m/s is the most important contribution to avoid unnecessary dust and fines creation. Drums are laced according to customer conditions and requirements.
